The whole of Provence - and the Var in particular - is well served by all modes of transport, so reaching La Bastide du Ginesté couldn’t be easier.
Road - follow the A8 autoroute to junction 36, then the dual carriageway to Draguignan, and the D557 road towards Salernes. Just 20 easy minutes from the autoroute junction, and full driving instructions are sent with every reservation.
Rail - Take the TGV or local TER trains to Les Arcs, and take a taxi from Les Arcs or a free shuttle bus to Draguignan. We ALWAYS recommend a car to get the most out of the area, and car hire is available in Draguignan. Details of hire desks always available on request.
By Air - Spoilt for choice with 3 airports, all convenient. Nice Cote d’Azur airport is the nearest and served by more airlines than the others, including British Airways, BMI, Cityjet, Easyjet, Jet2, Ryanair and others depending where you want to fly from. Delta fly daily from New York. Toulon/Hyeres airport has seasonal flights, operated by Ryanair & Cityjet. Marseilles airport is served by Easyjet, Ryanair and Transavia.
Following are some useful links to the transport providers, and once you’ve arrived by air and need a car, we recommend reserving and collecting a car at the airport for the best prices. Always reserve in advance, and remember air conditioning in the car is highly recommended in summertime.
By Sea - Regular car and passenger ferries arrive at Nice and Marseilles from Italy, Corsica and North Africa and from the UK there are regular ferries to the ports in Northern France and the Channel Tunnel. |
